“I had started studying under Quentin Baxter in preparation for The College of Charleston jazz program and he said something to me that totally changed my approach to percussion. At our first session, Quentin helped me become aware of the music that was swirling all around me and the “conversations” going on between the instruments.
It is my goal, on every song, to make sure the drums are talking to, and singing with, the other instruments. Not yelling at them.” – Chris Taylor
Currently looking for sit-ins and jams.
If you just need percussion for one or a few gigs, don’t hesitate to let me know. Whether it is a sit-in because your percussionist is unavailable or you need to augment your current percussion, I am there. I love to sit in and jam with new people and look forward to jamming with you.
